Derek (the creator) is very involved in supporting this and other themes he has developed. This is considerable seeing as how the themes are public and free. This means that he also donates a good portion of his time to supporting the users as best as he can for free as well! 2. The code is a step up from other free themes out there. This benefits both the code-minded and those who don't know as much about editing the source of their skin. 3. Although 'out of the box' the theme is not set up for widgets, it can be 'widgetized' very easily. As news themes go, I think it is a great choice.
